New Jersey Senior 
2026 Championship

Prizes: Trophies for 1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place, Best Over 65, Best Over 80, Best U1700, and Best U1200.


Prize Note:  Players may not win two prizes within the same prize category. A player who wins Best Over 80 may not also win Best Over 65. A player who wins Best U1200 may not also win Best U1700. However, age based prizes and rating based prizes are separate categories. For example, a player may win both Best Over 80 and Best U1200 if eligible.


State Representative: Top New Jersey resident in the Open Section qualifies to represent New Jersey at the 2026 Irwin National Tournament of Senior State Champions. Representative must reach age 50 prior to 7/30/2026. NJSCF provides a stipend to assist with travel expenses.

Running alongside the Harrogate Senior Open!

Important Note: Participants registered for the Harrogate Senior Open may change their registration to the 2026 NJ Senior Championship by signing up for the NJ Senior Championship.

 

Date: Saturday, May 30, 2026

 

Site: Harrogate Village, Lakewood, NJ (Address: 400 Locust St, Lakewood, NJ 08701)

 

Format: 4SS, G/45; d5. USCF rated.

 

Sections: One Open Section.

 

Entry Fee: Free!

 

Eligibility: Must be age 50 by 7/30/2026. A current USCF membership is required.

 

Round Times: 10:00 AM, 11:45 AM, 1:30 PM, 3:15 PM.

 

Byes: One ½ point bye available in rounds 1 to 4. Must be requested before the start of round 2.

Equipment: Limited sets and clocks available. Players are encouraged to bring their own sets and clocks. Digital clocks strongly preferred.

 

Registration: Online registration strongly encouraged. Brief onsite registration from 9:00 AM to 9:40 AM. Players may still enter with a ½ point bye in Round 1 if they register before 11:15 AM.

 

Limited Space: Room for only 80 total players between the NJ Senior Championship and the Harrogate Senior Open
